Why you should consider using SVG
D

I am an aspiring Fullstack developer.

Hello readers, today i stumbled upon SVG, been hearing the name for quite sometime but i was like what does it really mean. So i read articles and watched some videos on SVG, and it really got me impressed on what SVG can do. Today i had a change of mind from using the normal icon font we all know (font-awesome), because it really frustrating when you try out a font and it just shows a black box. Icon fonts is really just a hack to display icons which are like images. They could be a pain in the neck when u try them out and u get a black box not displaying the supposed font (really annoying),also its a disadvantage to screen readers because they cant read the font and they aren't as sharp as SVG's when it comes to quality. So with this little pain in the neck i'll advice you to use a more advance and cool style of using icons on your web page which is "SVG ICONS". SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. And it's a way of writing vector graphics with code. But today we wont dive into that (yeah). But with resources like icomoon.io, icons could be more easier in using. You could convert icon font to SVG (yes you just upload it and follow the remaining process in downloading it), also you could select free icons from their free libraries...

Next article would be on how to use the svg icon from icomoon, Keep your fingers crossed(winks).

U

Nice write-up bro
